THE PLAN
A Zero Carbon Plan has been developed as Step 1 in the journey to zero emissions, to bring together ideas, promote discussions and generate new ideas that could be implemented in our town.
The idea of an Energy Descent Plan began through our local Transition Tatura group, who drafted a plan to see Tatura reduce it's energy use, and become more sustainable and resilient.
As time passed, the need to drastically reduce carbon emissions became more urgent, as we in Tatura began to feel the impacts of climate change in our community, particularly in our agricultural sector.
In 2020, a Zero Carbon Tatura group was established, with an aim of transitioning our town to zero emissions, showcasing energy efficiency and renewable energy options, and assisting all our community transition to a more prosperous future.
